Social media outbursts grab public attention
From comedians to rugby players to aspiring top models, there have been plenty of outbursts via social media in 2011, with some catching plenty of public attention. Comedian Raybon Kan created controversy with one fell swoop of the thumbs when he tweeted about train breakdowns on opening night of the Rugby World Cup. “Maybe adidas should run Auckland public transport. Nice German company. They should know how to load thousands onto trains,” he tweeted. “Inappropriate and insulting,” was the instant rebuke from the secretary of the Wellington council of Christians and Jews, Dave Moskovitz.
